A guided math lesson with interactive practice follows. Schedules vary by grade level and subject, and the full instructional block runs six hours daily to meet Missouri state requirements.
Interactive Activities
Guided math with interactive practice and an afternoon breakout session for small-group support give students multiple formats for engaging with their teacher and the day's material. The breakout session in particular gives teachers room to work with a smaller group on specific skills.
Independent Learning Time
An independent work block with Learning Coach support is built into the midday schedule before lunch. Students complete assignments, practice activities, and any workbook exercises during this time. Schedules vary by grade level and subject, with independent time and the level of Learning Coach involvement shifting as students move through the elementary grades.
Breaks, Play, and Physical Activity
A lunch and movement break gives younger students a midday reset between independent work and the afternoon live session. Learning Coaches can use this window for outdoor play or physical activity. A consistent break at the same time each day helps younger students maintain focus across the full school day.
Teacher Support and Check-Ins
The afternoon breakout session gives students a scheduled, small-group opportunity for direct teacher help each day. Teachers also respond to questions through Canvas outside of live sessions.
